In January 2023, Amazon announced the shut down of their previous charity giving program “AmazonSmile.” According to Amazon’s website, “The AmazonSmile customer-directed donation program will permanently shut down on February 20, 2023.” Amazon also stated, “Once AmazonSmile closes, charities will still be able to seek support from Amazon customers by creating their own wish lists.” Read Amazon’s message about the shut down of AmazonSmile.

What was AmazonSmile?

Amazon donated a percentage of the price of eligible AmazonSmile purchases to non-profit organizations and gave shoppers the choice of which organization they’d like to donate too.

Then, if you are a non-profit that has AmazonSmile listed on your Support Us page of your website, we recommend removing AmazonSmile from your website after February 20, 2023. If you need assistance in this task, please contact us.
