Google just released Google Meet! Google Meet is a free video conference calling service for anyone to use who is looking to have virtual meetings with up to of 100 people.
Google Hangouts
Reasons to use Google Hangouts:
- It’s FREE for anyone to use!
- Text someone instead of writing an email.
- Call up to 100 people through Google Hangouts.
- Video chat up to 10 people with screen sharing capabilities.
- It is recommended you have a gmail account to use it properly. Setting up a basic gmail account is free.
How to find Google Hangouts:
- Download the Google Hangouts app to your smartphone or tablet and receive notifications right to your phone.
- If you are using your computer, Google Hangout messages will appear below your gmail folders at the bottom left of your gmail account.
- Simply visit hangouts.google.com.
Google Meet
Reasons to use Google Meet:
- Video chat up to 100 people with screen sharing capabilities.
- It’s FREE for anyone to use!
- You do need to have a gmail to begin a meeting but do not need to have a gmail account to join a meeting.
- Mute yourself, call in if you don’t have a camera, turn your camera off, chat box to chat with other members during the call, and more!
- Turn on captions for members who are on the call but are hearing impaired.
- Send a link, meeting code, or phone number to the video chat to members who you’d like to in the video chat.
- Send calendar invite reminders to video chat members.
