We’d like to take some time today and discuss what Google products we use to help our business office needs. We are large supporters of Google because many of their products are easy to use and all work jointly together. The best thing about these products is that many of them are free to use!
Office
Chrome – Chrome is an internet browser.
Gmail – Gmail is a email service.
Google Drive – Google Drive is an online drive to store your documents, spreadsheets, slides, and more.
Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms – Collaborate with others and create documents, spreadsheets, slides, and forms. Work on these creations all at the same time instead of having to send a file to someone, download it, edit it, re-upload it, and then send it back.
Google Photos – Upload your photos to Google Photos, sort them into albums, and share them.
Google Contacts – This is one of our favorite address books! Keep your network organized in Google Contacts. Download your Google Contacts into a spreadsheet or PDF. Better yet, upload a spreadsheet with your own contacts and Google Contacts will add them to their platform.
Google Calendar – Use Google Calendar to create multiple calendars. Invite others to meetings right from your calendar and share your calendar with others. This calendar could also be shared with others in your company so they can add to the calendar too.
Google Chat – We use Google Chat to send chat messages back and forth instead of emails.
Google Meet – Google Meet is for virtual online meetings and can hold a meeting with 100 participants. Screen sharing options are available.
Google Search – Google.com is the Search Engine we prefer to use to search the World Wide Web.
Google Maps – We use Google Maps to help us find the locations of our clients.
Google Translate – Another favorite of ours! We use Google Translate to help us communicate with clients who speak a different language than we do.
Google Workspace (formerly GSuite) – Google Workspace (formerly GSuite) is for businesses and organizations that are ready to take their business efforts to the next level. It does require a fee to use but is a great tool for businesses.
Marketing
GoogleMyBusiness – Did you ever wonder where the listing of a business comes from when it shows up on Google Search? That listing has the name of the business, website, address, hours, and more listed. It comes from GoogleMyBusiness.
YouTube – I’m not sure we need to explain YouTube, but just in case, it is a video sharing service for anyone who likes to share videos.
Google Analytics – If you have a website and would like to track how many views you receive on your website and how people get to your website, Google Analytics is the place to be. It’s a wonderful website marketing tool.
Google Ads (formerly Google AdWords) – When you search on Google, have you ever wondered where those top searches come from? Much of the time, those top searches are advertisements created by businesses and organizations through Google Ads.
PRO TIP!
Google for Non-Profits – Google for Non-Profits offers everything Google Workspace offers for free to qualifying non-profits. Many non-profits organizations do not use this service and absolutely can be using it. Non-profits are also able to place Google Ads at a discounted price through Google for Non-Profits.
Remember, this list is just the list of Google products we like to use for our business. There are many other Google tools you could use. See a complete list of all Google Products.
