Basic Recording Tips
Tip 1: Speak loudly and clearly
Tip 2: Hold your recording device horizontally and try to keep it steady. Use of a tripod or music stand helps to keep your video footage steady so your viewers don’t sea sick.
Tip 3: Record in a well-lit area. Natural lighting from the outdoors is best.
Tip 4: Allow 3 seconds of silence in the beginning and end of your videos.
Press record. Count 1, 2, 3. Then, speak your part. Count 1, 2, 3. Press stop record button.
Pro Recording Tips for Marketing Promotional Videos
If you are creating videos to use for promotional use and will be using video editing software to merge multiple video clips, pictures, and/or text to create on video, here are some recommendations:
Tip 1: Add your logo to your movie.
Tip 2: Add pictures you feel would best showcase your video. (products or services)
Tip 3: Add video clips you feel would be best to showcase in your video. (video testimonials, your organization at an event, etc.)
Tip 4: Add audio clips. (someone speaking about your organization; music you’d like to use)
Tip 5: Add text to your video. (testimonials; product and service names; business name; location; website URL)
