How to Give Back

No matter the time of year, it is always important to give back to others. Businesses, organizations, professionals, or personally, we all have a special cause that impacts us on various levels. We remember many of these causes more around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter because we think of family and friends that benefit from the giving to causes. Here are a few ways you may give back throughout the year:

Ways to Give Back Personally

  • Donate your time to family, friends, your neighbors, a local business, or community organization
  • Say hello when you pass a stranger on the sidewalk
  • Buy from a school fundraiser or community fundraiser
  • Visit an orphanage and spend time with children who do not have families or seniors in a senior living community
  • Plant a tree
  • Recycle
  • Volunteer to read to those with poor eyesight
  • Be a foster parent
  • Adopt a pet
  • Pick up trash around your neighborhood
  • Go through your closet and donate clothes you don’t wear anymore
  • Write a letter to a soldier
  • Donate food to a food drive
  • Donate blood
  • Give financially to a cause that matters to you

Ways Businesses May Give Back

  • Get your employees together during a day of work and head over to a local charity or orphanage and offer your business’s time to them
  • Pick up trash around the neighborhood your business works in
  • Have all your employees write letters to soldiers or a specific brigade
  • Begin a food, clothing, or toy drive with your employees
  • “Adopt a Highway” for picking up litter
  • Donate financially to a cause that matters to your business
