What is WordPress?

WordPress is one of the largest used website building platforms that professional website developers use. WordPress is an easy to use platform that requires very little coding knowledge. Students in this course will not need to know coding to build their own website. Students may learn a few basic coding techniques.

During class, students will set up their own WordPress account to create their own websites. Creation and setup of WordPress will be taught in this course.

What is your teaching style and how will you teach?

We like to have fun in our courses. We are thorough in execution but joyful in presentation. We do expect students to follow instruction and do the assignments, and we welcome every question a student may ask. We use slides to help present lessons and hands-on work to engage student learning. We love having students bring in their own learning styles and ways of participation. Since this is a small class, we do expect to interact with all students. We want to learn about students and what they are experienced in.

Teacher Expertise

We have over 15 years of marketing and communications experience and have built websites for businesses and organizations. Having our own marketing business has allowed us to build websites for businesses, organizations, and professionals.

Will there be homework?

If a student does not finish his or her work during that day’s lesson, the student is expected to finish it prior to the next class lesson. This class does meet once a week for 12 weeks and it is expected for each student to keep up with the lessons and any work in the lesson.
